About the Helena Association of REALTORS®

The Helena Association of REALTORS® (HAR) has over 500 REALTORS® and Affiliate Members and has been providing the Helena area with professional real estate services for over 65 years. HAR is a not-for-profit trade association, and its members are also members of the Montana and National Associations of REALTORS®. 

HAR recognizes the need to sustain and enhance the quality of life enjoyed by Montana’s citizens. We believe we can build a better community by supporting quality growth and seeking economic and housing opportunities that embrace the environmental qualities we value, while protecting the rights of property owners. Our members are passionate about our community and its growth.

Helena Association of REALTORs® provides affordable continuing education, Code of Ethics enforcement, and extensive networking opportunities for members and affiliates. We also raise money to inform the public about issues and to support local, state, and national governments in all aspects of real estate, property rights, and home ownership matters.

About HMLS

The Helena Multiple Listing Service, or HMLS, maintains current market information, computer support and an automated lockbox system, SentriLock, for convenient, secure and safer home showings.





Desirae earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in Business Management from Montana State University. After graduation, she went to work for MSU’s Information Technology Center, where she was responsible for managing a portfolio of IT projects. In 2016, Desirae took a job with the Gallatin Association of REALTORS® in Bozeman as an MLS support specialist and most recently served as Director of Operations for the Gallatin Association of REALTORS®.

Desirae holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in nonprofit administration from the University of Montana. Desirae loves spending time outdoors and is excited to explore new hiking trails and fishing spots in the Helena area. She is a mom to two fur babies; a one-year-old golden retriever named Murphy and a cat named Clementine.

Bonnie Wilkes
Membership & Communications Coordinator

Bonnie has over 22 years of experience of business skills in office management, bookkeeping, payroll, project management, community relations, and office software and equipment usage. Bonnie is noted for her strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, calm and professional demeanor, and dependability.
Her college education was directed towards Business Managment and
Marketing, but most of her education, she says, came from the “School of Life”.
Her Hobbies include kayaking, riding her ATV, gardening, houseplants, flowers, crafts, baking, cooking, canning, card games, hot tubs, quality time spent with family and friends and her three dogs – Cookie, Twizzler and Caramel.

Lacey Walker
Program & Education Coordinator

Lacey has been an educator in Helena for nearly a decade, most recently as a math teacher at the Helena Adult Learning Center. While in this position, she worked with the Office of Public Instruction to provide continuing education and professional development opportunities for adult education teachers across the state. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Broadfield Science and Secondary Education from Montana Tech and the University of Montana-Western.

Lacey loves to explore the backroads of Montana and would happily spend every day in her canoe. When the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can find her playing pinball or cribbage. She and her husband have called Helena home for the past 15 years and have two cats, Neil Diamond and Worf.


Jessalyn BASTEN

Jessalyn is a Helena native, born and raised.  She has been in the accounting field for over 12 years.  She recently received her associate in accounting and will be going for her bachelor’s degree this fall at the University of Montana.  Her specialties include bookkeeping, payroll, and bank reconciliation.  She has owned and operated many small businesses here in Helena throughout the years and has very close ties to the community.  Jessalyn is well-known for her outgoing personality, her drive to always do her best at every task she is handed, and her eagerness to learn new things.

Jessalyn is certainly a social butterfly and loves to be around her family and friends.   Her passion includes traveling and exploring other cultures.  She is a single mother of 2 beautiful girls, and you will most likely find the three of them on a spontaneous adventure.
